PURELY IMAGINARY

PURELY IMAGINARY — An International Juried Exhibition

Reality has rules. Your imagination has other plans.

Palm Art Gallery invites artists into **Purely Imagination**, an exhibition where dreams interrupt everyday life, the subconscious takes the wheel, and the impossible makes itself at home. Bring us your phantasms, invented worlds, beautiful obsessions, and familiar things turned wonderfully strange. Whether your vision is playful, mysterious, intimate, or extravagant, let us see what happens when your inner world takes over.

Give us something reality could never have dreamed up.

PURELY IMAGINARY — An International Juried Exhibition

A door opens into a childhood that never happened. A shadow develops a personality. A landscape feels like somewhere you lived in another life. Everything is slightly impossible—and somehow, it makes perfect sense.

Welcome to “Purely Imagination”, a Palm Art Gallery exhibition celebrating the extraordinary things that happen when artists give their inner worlds a life of their own.

Reality supplies the facts. Imagination gets restless with them. It rearranges the furniture, changes the weather, brings back the absent, and invents what is missing. It gives a body to a feeling and a landscape to a longing. Through imagination, we can enter places no camera could find and recognize something about ourselves in a world that has never existed.

We invite you to explore that territory: the space between the waking mind and the dream, between what stands before your eyes and what stirs beneath the surface. Follow a daydream past the point of good sense. Give your subconscious the keys. See what comes through the door.

Your interpretation might be a spectacular fantasy or a quiet disturbance. A portrait inhabited by another presence. An ordinary street obeying the logic of dreams. An abstraction shaped by an unnamed desire. A tender invention, an absurd encounter, a private mythology, a glimpse of something that feels almost spiritual.

There is room here for humor, wonder, longing, mystery, and the delicious pleasure of making something that needs no permission to exist.

The transformation can be subtle. A shift in scale, an unexpected color, or a familiar object in an unfamiliar relationship can make the everyday feel enchanted, unsettling, or newly alive. Painting, photography, sculpture, collage, and digital work each offer ways to give these visions form, from precise detail to expressive abstraction.

Think of the work that surprised you as you made it. The image you understood only afterward—or still cannot quite explain. The piece that seems to know something you don’t. That may be where your submission begins.

Together, they create something unforgettable.

Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme freely. Your work does not need to be surreal or unusual in an obvious way. A striking portrait, an abstract composition, a dramatic landscape, a quiet photograph, an unexpected color combination, an unusual perspective, or an extraordinary detail from everyday life can all belong in PURELY IMAGINARY

We welcome a broad range of artistic approaches, including painting, photography, drawing, digital art, mixed media, collage, illustration, sculpture, and other visual media.

This exhibition is intentionally open and expansive. We want to see the world through your eyes.

We are especially interested in work that feels visually compelling, original, emotionally engaging, or impossible to ignore.

Perhaps your work celebrates imperfection. Perhaps it transforms something ordinary into something extraordinary. Perhaps it explores beauty in places others overlook. Or perhaps it simply creates an image that makes the viewer wonder:

What am I looking at — and why can’t I look away?

Whether your work is bold or subtle, figurative or abstract, joyful or mysterious, polished or raw, we invite you to surprise us.

Show us the unusual.
Show us the unexpected.
Show us the extraordinary.

Welcome to PURELY IMAGINARY
