In the Abstract a VIRTUAL EXHIBITION. SFVACC invites artists to enter our annual juried exhibition, In The Abstract a Virtual Exhibition. Abstract art uses shapes, forms, color, line and texture as opposed to representing an accurate depiction of visual reality. Abstract art challenges artists to explore new ways of seeing and expressing themselves.
Implicit to abstract art is the notion that the work of art exists in its own right, and not necessarily as a mirror of reality. -The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms
