The City of Loveland Art in Public Places program seeks artists for The Art Advocacy Project 2D exhibit in the Loveland Public Library’s Central Galleria. This popular public art exhibit is a one-year on-loan program designed to promote regional artists. This project is open to all Colorado artists of two-dimensional media. TAAP 2D offers artists an opportunity to bring their work into a vibrant public setting and connect with community members and visitors. Selected artwork will be on display from late March 2027 through late February 2028.
Colorado artists working in two-dimensional media are encouraged to apply to this annual exhibition. This project is open to artists (18 years or older) at any stage of their career. TAAP 2D welcomes a wide variety of media, including fiber, charcoal, and mixed media, in addition to traditional painting. Applications will be evaluated by a jury panel comprised of representatives from Art in Public Places (AIPP) and citizen volunteers.
Through this program, the City of Loveland celebrates and supports Colorado artists while making original artwork accessible to the public. Artists may choose to offer their work for sale; however, this is not required. Selected artists will be paid an honorarium of $350.
Since 2022, AIPP teamed up with the Loveland Poet Laureate committee to showcase poetry inspired by the artwork on display. We find that the pairing of artists with poets provides nuance and synergy to the artwork display. Depending on the poet’s creative process, selected artists may need to spend some time discussing their artwork with the poet. If selected for this exhibit, selected artists should plan to attend the Artist Talk and Poetry Reading Reception on Saturday, March 27, 2027.
