Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Entry Fee: $25
Brief:
Artists currently living in South Dakota, as well as enrolled citizens of one of the state’s federally recognized tribes, are invited to submit artworks for consideration for Art Is: South Dakota. This competitive exhibition is designed to broaden inclusion and access, creating opportunities for artists at every stage of their careers to share their work with audiences throughout the state.
Organized around the open-ended prompt Art Is…, the exhibition welcomes artists to express what art means to them through their work and a short artist statement. A competitive juried process will bring together a wide range of perspectives, media, experiences, and creative practices that reflect the people and places of South Dakota.
Selected artworks will travel to five exhibiting institutions across the state, connecting artists with new communities and giving audiences in different regions opportunities to encounter contemporary art made by South Dakota artists.
