People watching, enjoying a sporting event, or watching children at play. Is it a facial expression that catches your interest or the way an individual moves? We invite you to share faces and figures using fiber and/or fiber and textile techniques. The exhibition will be juried by the Fiber Art Now creative team and will be featured in the spring 2027 issue of Fiber Art Now, to be released in early April 2027. Selected artwork will be eligible for the on-site exhibition at Springfield Museum of Art in Springfield, Ohio, in the early fall of 2028. springfieldart.net
Tips for Preparing Your Entry
To present your work to its best advantage, keep these photography guidelines in mind:
· Images must be 5MB or less.
· Submit only full images, no detail or alternate views. Detail or alternative views will not be considered. Use a clean, neutral background and show only the artwork. Do not hold your work with hands or feet showing. Be sure to shoot your artwork straight on. Poor photography may negatively impact juror scores.
If you reference another artist's work in the artwork you submit to the call, or the work was inspired by another artist's work, you must mention that fact in your artist statement.
Submitted artwork must be a finished, physical piece of fiber art. How you arrived at your design — whether through sketching, software, photography, AI tools, or any combination — is your process, and your process is your own.
What is not eligible: AI-generated images, renderings, or digital compositions submitted in place of a physical work.
Paintings on canvas or other textiles that function as a painted work of art are not elegible. This call for art is for artwork created using fiber or textile techniques.
Artists are encouraged to disclose the tools used in their artist statements. We jury the work based on its construction, vision, and originality.
NOTE: There are no dimension restrictions for the print exhibition, but Springfield Museum of Art may consider dimensions when choosing artwork for the on-site exhibition.
