This call is open to all artists of three-dimensional outdoor media. Artists may submit up to two sculptures for consideration; however, each sculpture application must be submitted separately. Please be sure the scale of the work is clearly evident. Please do not submit sculptural design concepts; only finished works will be juried.
All sculpture submissions must be professionally constructed of durable materials which will withstand the elements. Sculptures delivered in poor and/or unsafe condition will not be accepted for the TAAP 3D 2027-2029 display. If a sculpture is delivered and is deemed unsafe or not as presented during the application process, the City reserves the right to reject the sculpture. Artists will be responsible for the return of their artwork.
Selected artists are responsible for transportation of the artwork to and from the installation site. Artwork will be installed by the City’s installation contractor. The installation method for each sculpture will be welded tabs or a similar easy-install method.
Please provide all dimensions (L x W x H x D), weight, and a stated insurance value for the artwork. There are presently no restrictions on size; however, artists should be aware that sculptures will be placed within a well-traveled shopping/gallery streetscape on a 4’ x 4’ metal plate. Very large sculptures (7' H+) will be considered as space allows.
Selected artists should clean the sculpture and apply appropriate surface treatments (cold wax, hot wax, special treatment, etc.) prior to, or immediately following, installation. While the sculpture should be relatively maintenance-free, the City assumes responsibility for minor maintenance while under contract.
The City is responsible for all costs for materials and workmanship for the initial installation of the Artwork, including, but not limited to, final site preparation, plinth, cleanup and repair of any damage caused during installation or vandalism while on display.
The City of Loveland is responsible for making minor emergency repairs when necessary and maintaining insurance coverage on the works due to vandalism. The City will not be liable for degradation caused by normal wear and tear, and weathering. In the event the installation is bronze work, the Artists should cold wax the artwork prior to, or immediately following, installation. While the Artwork should be relatively maintenance-free, the City assumes responsibility for minor maintenance.
Artwork may be available for sale. Art in Public Places Program will retain a commission of 20% of the purchase value.
