Latino Arts, Inc., in partnership with Milwaukee School of Art & Design (MIAD), invites emerging and established artists age 18 and older from Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Michigan to submit up to two original works for a 2027 juried exhibition exploring the cultures, identities, communities, and experiences that enrich the American creative landscape.
Exhibition: March 5-June 4, 2027.
Entry fee: $40 per artwork.
Deadline: January 10, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. CT.
For 40 years, Latino Arts, Inc. has created mission-driven programs rooted in Cultura y Corazón (Culture and Heart). E Pluribus: From Many looks toward the next decade by celebrating the talent of Hispanic and Latino artists and their allies across the Midwest.
E Pluribus means “from many.” The exhibition considers how many voices, histories, traditions, and forms of expression can exist together while remaining distinct. Artists are invited to respond through personal, cultural, community-based, or cross-cultural perspectives. Submitted work should explore the rich mix of cultures, traditions, artistic practices, communities, and lived experiences that shape Hispanic and Latino identities. Artists are encouraged to create work that sparks curiosity, builds connection, and invites thoughtful conversation. Work may center on cultural identity, personal experience, creative expression, belonging, multiplicity, shared values, or the ways communities meet and influence one another.
Submissions should welcome a broad audience and support respectful dialogue across backgrounds and points of view.
Selection approach: Jurors will consider how effectively each work engages with this curatorial framework and how it could contribute to the strongest overall exhibition. The process does not ask whether a work is Hispanic or Latino enough.
The exhibition will take place at Latino Arts, Inc., March 5-June 4, 2027, with an opening reception on March 5, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Established Artist Track: $1,000 Jurors’ Choice recognition.
Emerging Artist Track: $800 Jurors’ Choice recognition.
