Nine Eighteen Nine - GCA Exhibit 2026: Narratives

The theme of this show is "Narratives." Part of your submission must include a sentence about the piece you are submitting.  For example, this can speak to something about your piece you want to draw the viewer's attention to, or something about what inspired you to create it. Perhaps you want to say something about your process.  The nature of the sentence is up to you. Both the jurors and the judge will have access to the sentence when viewing your piece.

This show is a juried and judged show.  Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners as well as 3 honorable mentions . The Theme is Narratives and requires a sentence about the piece being submitted. There will also be a People’s Choice Award given at the closing reception on Saturday, December 5th.

Submission Dates: September 11- September 25

Show Dates: November 7th- December 5

Artists Notified: October 19th

Take In: Sunday, November 1st 12-3, and Monday November 2nd,10-2

Opening Reception: Saturday, November 7th, 2-4

Closing Reception: Saturday, December 5th, 2-4

Pick Up: Sunday, December 6th, 11-2

Maximum size: 40" x 40" including frame.

Commissions for sale during the show is 30% 

*Any work not complying with size limitations will be excluded from the show and the entry fee will not be refunded.

*No SUBSTITUTIONS allowed. Failure to deliver submitted artwork will result in removal from the show and entry fee will not be refunded.

Artwork must be original in concept, composition and execution, and not in any copyright infringement.  

Art must have been completed in the last 3 years, and may not have been previously shown in a Guild show. Any previously shown work submitted to a new show will be excluded from participation and entry fee will not be refunded.

Work done in ANY class and/or under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible for entry. 

Works of subjects deemed unacceptable for the venue will be rejected.   

There shall be a non-refundable entry fee for all shows that will be paid during the submission process for that show. 

Membership in the Guild is required to submit to a show. Membership may be purchased at the time of entry to any show and is on a rolling annual basis. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
