2027 Artist Residency at MCCC

Call for Entry:

The Gallery at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) is seeking artists for our bi-annual residency program that fosters artistic exploration and collaboration.

Four residencies will be awarded, each lasting three weeks in the 2027 Spring Semester. Two residencies will be designated for Mercer County artists, and two for artists residing outside the county.

Residents will be assigned one of our two gallery side spaces to create an exhibition or performance-based project. Residents will showcase their work co-currently with another resident artist in the mirroring space.

During the residency, artists are required to collaborate with MCCC students and staff on their project and conduct workshops in the main gallery space.

Upon successful completion of the residency, artists will receive a $350 stipend.

Residency Structure:

Four residencies will be awarded, each lasting three weeks in the Spring Semester 0f 2027. Residency dates are listed below.

Term A: January 25 - February 12
Term B: February 22 - March 12

Two residencies are designated for Mercer County artists, and two for artists residing outside the county.

Residents will be assigned one of out two gallery side spaces to create an exhibition or performance-based project. Artists have the unique opportunity to showcase your work co-currently with another resident in the mirroring space. 

During eh residency, artists are required to collaborate with MCCC students and staff on their project and conduct workshops in the main gallery space.

Collaboration and Engagement:

We highly value project that prioritize student engagement.

Resident artist will have the opportunity to work with MCCC students and staff through workshops and collaborate on their side-space project.

Additionally, MCCC faculty will host workshops, talks, and other events for the community, increasing engagement with project spaces.

Exhibition Space and Logistics:

Our gallery side spaces are primarily designed for exhibitions, not studios. While artists may work in the space they should be aware that facilities are limited.

Artists are responsible for transporting their artwork and materials to and from the gallery.

The gallery does not cover any shipping costs.

Upon successful completion of the residency, artists will receive a $350 stipend.

Artists are required to return the gallery space to its original condition.

Media and Style:

The Gallery at MCCC welcomes proposals in all media, including (but not limited to) painting, sculpture, installation, performance, photography and video.
