Wavelength: Yellow

Wavelength is an open call for color-specific artwork exploring the physical spectrum of visible color. This year's exhibition is focused solely on the color of yellow. Works do not need to be ONLY yellow, but must have a primarily yellow focus. Artists are invited to submit works of any medium, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramic, installation, video, and fiber. This exhibition will change color each iteration, offering a fun investigation into how different frequencies can shape human perception and spatial experience.

About the Juror

Ellen is a Fort Wayne based artist, curator and educator. She has a BFA in painting from Indiana University and MFA in two-dimensional studies from Bowling Green State University. Ellen has managed the exhibitions and educational programming at Artlink for over 6 years, and had several years of gallery management experience prior. She has taught visual arts courses at Bowling Green State, Purdue Fort Wayne and Saint Francis University.

Requirements (IF ACCEPTED)
All accepted works must be available during the exhibition timeframe and ready for installation upon delivery. Any works not professionally presented (ex: damaged or not matching the accepted artwork) may not be accepted for exhibition. Traditionally framed artwork must be ready to hang with wire. Framing is not required. If your work requires special installation instructions, please contact ellen@artlinkfw.org prior to the submission deadline.

Sales commission: All artwork sales are subject to a 35% sales fee. Artists will be mailed a check for sold work following the close of the exhibition. 

Liability: Artwork will be insured during exhibition at Artlink. Artlink is not liable for damage of loss in transit to and from the gallery. Any damage caused by improper preparations by the artist will not be covered by Artlink.

Artwork delivery if accepted: 
The exhibition will take place Oct 22 - Nov 15, 2026. All accepted artworks must arrive at Artlink no later than Oct 11, 2026 to be included. Artists can hand-deliver or ship their accepted works anytime between acceptance and the deadline. 

Hand Delivery
Hand-delivered artwork is accepted during gallery hours: Thursday 10am—8pm, Friday & Saturday 10am—6pm, Sunday 12—5pm. Please schedule a delivery time with the Exhibition Coordinator. 

Shipping
Artwork that is shipped must be sent through UPS or FedEx and must include a return shipping label. Artlink does not cover the cost of shipping to or from the gallery. Shipped work must be framed with plexiglass, no glass permitted. Any damages that occur during shipping must be covered by the artist. In such an occurrence, the Exhibition Coordinator will contact the artist for a credit card number to facilitate repairs prior to the exhibition opening. Please no crates or styrofoam peanuts.
