Mt. Si Artist Guild Small Works Juried Show (Fall 2026)

The Mt. Si Artist Guild (MSAG) is excited to announce their Fall 2026 Small Works Show! Entry period is July 20 through August 30, 2026, and is open to 2D original art, non-thematic; any subject matter is eligible. No photography or computer-generated art. Maximum size of framed art is 164 square inches or less. No miniatures. Art juried in will be displayed at the Art Gallery of SnoValley, Snoqualmie, WA from October 1 through October 30, 2026. Reception and awards on October 3, 2026.

We are pleased to welcome Denise Page as our Fall 2026 juror. A Northwest pastel artist, she is captivated by light, dramatic skies, and rugged landscapes. After a career as an educator and librarian, she returned to painting in retirement, finding a love for pastels. She translates nature's wonder into paintings that invite viewers into a moment of awe. A member of several pastel societies, her work is juried into local and national exhibitions.

AWARDS:

ENTRY FEES: 

One to three pieces $40. All artwork submitted must meet the size requirements. Entry fees are nonrefundable. Payment is made through CaFE via credit card. This is a juried show. There is no guarantee of acceptance into the show.

Rules of Entry:

All registration for this show is done online. After reviewing the prospectus thoroughly, artists should submit entries to the Mt. Si Artist Guild Small Works Juried Show (Fall 2026) at: https://www.callforentry.org/. No mail-in registration is available. MSAG must receive all entries no later than August 30 at 11 PM PST.

1. Entries juried into the show are based on images submitted with online registration. Artists should ensure that images of artwork are of good quality and are representative of the original. (Tip: If photographing your own work, avoid background clutter, glare, reflections on glass or skewing the proportions of the artwork. Be sure that the piece is in focus and properly lit.)

2. File format: JPEG or JPG only

File dimensions: 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side. 

File size: under 5 MB

3. Final framed artwork must measure 164 square inches or less, including the framing. Calculate area by measuring the height and width of the finished piece from the outside edges of the frame (or piece, if unframed). Multiply the height by the width of framed art; it must equal 164 inches or less. All paintings or drawings media are eligible except photography and computer-generated art. No 3D artwork, photography, or computer-generated art will be considered for this show.

4. All works must be 2D originals and should be for sale. MSAG will retain a 30% commission from all works sold. Artists should price their work accordingly. Proceeds less commission will be sent by mail within 30 days of show close should a painting sell.

5. Shipping: If the painting is sold and requires shipping to the buyer, the cost of shipping will be paid by the buyer.

6. Work produced in a workshop or class cannot be accepted. Entries must not be copies, derivatives of, nor be based on the work of another artist or of copyrighted or trademarked material. No photographic or computer-generated images can be accepted. 

7. All artwork must be properly finished.

• All artworks must be properly wired for hanging. Sawtooth hangers, brackets, or exposed glass edges will not be accepted.
• All artworks must have a label attached with the artist’s name, title of the artwork, medium and price.
• Unframed gallery-wrapped canvas must have finished sides.
• No wet artworks will be accepted.
• No shipped artwork can be accepted for this show. In person delivery required.
• MSAG reserves the right to refuse any entry that does not meet the above specifications or that may be considered offensive to patrons of the venue.

8. You will be asked to sign the Gallery Release form, claim check and an Artist Inventory listing the piece on intake.

9. Artists’ submitted images may be used to promote the show to the public via print and online publications, social media, postcards and posters. MSAG will use artists’ images for promotional purposes only. Artists retain rights to their work.

Delivery and Pick-Up:

1. MSAG will notify artists by September 14 whether their work is accepted into the show.

2. Accepted work must be delivered to the gallery on Sunday, September 27, 2026, between 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Unless you have made special arrangements, please do not deliver artworks to the gallery before September 27, 2026. All artworks must remain in the gallery for the duration of the show unless sold after the award ceremony.

3. With proper receipt/claim check, the artist or artist’s representative must pick up their unsold artworks on November 1, 2026, between 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M.

4. If the artwork is not picked up by 1:00 PM November 1, 2026, and MSAG is not contacted, and other arrangements agreed upon, the artwork will be considered abandoned and will become the property of MSAG.

Liability:

MSAG suggests that artists carry their own insurance on their artwork. While the gallery members take every precaution to avoid loss or damage, all artists who enter this show agree to hold MSAG and the Art Gallery of SnoValley and its members harmless for any loss or damage incurred. The liability waiver must be submitted when art is dropped off.

By submitting an entry to the MSAG Small Works show the artist agrees to accept the terms of this prospectus.

JUROR BIO: Denise Page

Denise Page has been captivated by nature since her earliest memories—the shimmer of light on grasses, dramatic skies, and the rich colors of rugged landscapes. Her passion for art began at age three, sketching daily with her grandfather, who built her first easel. Encouraged by her grandfather and mother, she pursued art through childhood and college, though practical decisions first led her to a rewarding career in education as a school librarian. In retirement, she joyfully returned to her first love: painting.

A workshop with her friend, acclaimed pastel artist Jen Evenhus, reignited Denise's creative journey and introduced her to pastels—the organic feel of pigment on gritty paper, the pure color intensity, and the challenge of a new medium. She and her husband combine workshops with travel to California, Wyoming, the American Southwest, Italy, and France, where she paints plein air. In her studio, memory carries her back to the moment she captured a scene, and her goal is to translate the wonder of nature into paintings that invite viewers into that same awe. She draws inspiration from masters like Degas and Cassatt and today's leading pastelists.

Denise is an active member of the Pastel Society of America, International Association of Pastel Societies, Northwest Pastel Society, and Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists. Her work has been juried into local, national, and international exhibitions.
