We invite you to submit work for consideration in our Drawing Rooms exhibit, “Sum Sum Summ-A-Time”, an online-only exhibition presented on Artsy.net. While the gallery is closed for summer, we thought it would be a great idea to find out what you like to do in the summer and feature that work in an online show.
Acceptable media includes painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, photography, sculpture, fibers or any other fine art medium. Artists chosen will also be considered for our other programs, such as The Art Project JC lobbies, and online Artsy.net exhibits throughout the year.

Artist Notification 7/26/26
It's summertime and we invite you to submit work for consideration in our Drawing Rooms exhibit, “Sum Sum Summ-A-Time”, the first online-only exhibition presented on Artsy.net!
Acceptable media includes painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, photography, sculpture, fiber or any other fine art medium. There is no size limitation!
We'd like to see both works relating to the theme of summer:
Let's capture summer's essence!
Many famous artists have created works on the theme of summer: Carole Feuerman’s bathing-capped swimmers, Milton Avery’s beach scenes inspired by summers in Massachusetts and Maine, Peter Doig’s warm-weather and tropical paintings made after his move to Trinidad, Gauguin’s Tahiti, Monet and Manet’s painting of French coastline beaches, David Hockney's swimming pool paintings, Alex Katz' Maine beach paintings.
There are too many songs about summer—from Billie Holiday: Summertime, Earth Wind and Fire: Hot Fun in the Summertime, Beach Boys: California Girls, Lana Del Rey: Summertime Sadness, Ramones: Rockaway Beach, DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince: Summertime, The Beatles: Here Comes the Sun, to Weezer: Island in the Sun, and more, that we just can’t decide on our favorite!

Features:
1- Online Artsy Exhibit
“Sum Sum Summ-A-Time” will be a Drawing Rooms Artsy.net Online Exhibit. Drawing Rooms has an extensive selection of artists' works, previous exhibits, and featured-artist “viewing room” pages on this world-class art sales platform. Galleries and collectors from around the world engage with Artsy as the preferred way to view and purchase fine art online.
2- Meet the Artists Online Zoom event
Drawing Rooms will host an online Meet the Artist Event afternoon on Zoom that will feature artists from the exhibit and be open to the public.
3- Future Gallery Programs
Artists in the exhibition will be given preference for our Jersey City Lobby Program and the Big Small Show at our Jersey City gallery space, as well as future online Artsy.net presentations throughout the year.
Artists included in any of our 2026 shows will have preferred status for our end-of-the-year holiday blow-out exhibition, The Big Small Show, replete with a full weekend Opening, wine, delicious holiday snacks, and a catalog. The Big Small Show is like a party in appreciation of the artists we work with throughout the year, along with new artists we hope will continue to be part of our community.
