Juror: Peggi Kroll-Roberts

The exhibition will be juried by Peggi Kroll- Roberts, known for her vibrant, loosely painted figurative works, beach scenes, still lifes, and plein-air paintings. Her style combines strong color, expressive brushwork, and an emphasis on capturing the essence of a scene rather than rendering every detail.

Kroll-Roberts lives in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Calaveras County, California.

We invite artists to submit work for Reclaiming the Ordinary, a juried exhibition that celebrates the overlooked, the familiar, and the everyday. In a culture often captivated by spectacle and novelty, this exhibition seeks to highlight the significance of ordinary moments, objects, routines, and spaces that quietly shape our lives.

From morning rituals and domestic scenes to neighborhood landscapes and cherished possessions, Reclaiming the Ordinary encourages artists to explore how the commonplace can become extraordinary through attention, memory, creativity, and reflection.

Important Dates:

Entry Deadline: July 27, 2026 11:59 p.m. PDT 

Accepted (and non-accepted) artists will be notified: July 30.

Deadline for Delivery: August 10.

Exhibition opens: August 19

Opening Reception for the Artists: August 22 from 4 to 7pm

Exhibition ends: September 12

Return Shipping and Art-pick up starts on September 14

• Minimum Art Size: no side less than 10 inches
• Maximum Art Size:  52 inches in either direction
• Maximum Weight: 40 pounds
• Sculpture Max Height: 30’’
• Sculpture Max Weight: 100 pounds
• Artwork must be for sale

• Open to artists 18 years and older
• Entries must be original and created entirely by the artist. No digital art, workshop/class art, or reproductions will be accepted
• Only one painting per artist will be juried into the exhibition
• Art that has been previously exhibited at Woodward Contemporary cannot be exhibited again.
