Nebraska Wesleyan Staircase Mural

The Art Department invites applications from current students and early career alumni of Nebraska Wesleyan University to create work on the risers of the two upper-level staircases in Lucas Hall. Individuals and teams of individuals may apply. Artists may propose to work on one or both staircases. Applicants will submit a resume, 5-10 images of previous work, statement of interest, images of the proposed project, project budget, and project schedule. 

The Nebraska Wesleyan Art Department invites current students and early career alumni of NWU to design and install a staircase mural on the risers of the two upper-level staircases in Lucas Hall. The winning individual/team will create a welcoming and inspiring entrance to the second floor of the art building (Lucas), while also generating publicity for the department and university.

Individuals and teams of individuals may apply. Artists may propose to work on one or both staircases.

Selection Committee:

A selection committee composed of the art faculty, an art student, an art alum, a representative of the administration, and a representative of the UNI Creative District will meet to discuss the proposals and determine three finalists. The committee will meet with the finalists either in person or via Zoom. Finalists will receive notification of selection by October 15th, 2026.

Applicants must be current students or alumni of Nebraska Wesleyan University.
