Kirkland Arts Center is pleased to announce its first annual juried exhibition, Best in Show. Each year, this show will feature artistic works showcasing our furry and feathered friends–KAC will select an animal each year, and it’s up to the artist’s imagination how to interpret the theme. The selected theme for our 2026 edition is Dogs. This exhibition call is open to 2D and 3D artists of all ages working in Washington in any medium or style.
Kirkland Arts Center is pleased to announce its first annual juried exhibition, Best in Show. Each year, this exhibition will showcase artistic works inspired by our furry and feathered friends. KAC will select a different animal theme annually, leaving the interpretation entirely up to the artist’s imagination.
The theme for the 2026 exhibition is Dogs.
This call is open to Washington-based 2D and 3D artists of all ages, working in any medium or style. Both real and imaginary interpretations of the subject are welcome, in abstract or representational forms.
Selected works will be exhibited at Kirkland Arts Center from September 18–October 9, 2026. An opening reception will be held on September 18, and a $500 prize will be awarded to one selected winner in both 2D and 3D media categories.
Selected artists are responsible for shipping artwork to Kirkland Arts Center. All artwork must be ready to hang or display. Artists must include prepaid return shipping labels or sufficient return postage. Kirkland Arts Center retains a 40% commission on all sold artwork. Artwork may not exceed 48 inches in height or width.
Kirkland Arts Center was founded in 1962 as the Creative Arts League by artists and community members dedicated to expanding local access to the arts while preserving the historic Peter Kirk Building, constructed in 1893. For more than 60 years, KAC has maintained and cared for this landmark building, transforming it into a vibrant community arts center featuring exhibition galleries, studios, and classrooms serving students of all ages and skill levels.
