Opposites Attract

Opposites Attract

What comes to mind when you hear this line? Busy and bland? Dark and light? Hard and soft? What will you bring together? Show us a unique piece of art that includes fiber material or a textile technique. The entries will be juried by the Fiber Art Now creative team and will be featured in the fall 2026 issue of Fiber Art Now, to be released in early October 2026.

Curated selections from the print exhibition will be eligible for the on-site exhibition at Leedy-Voulkos Art Center, Kansas City, Missouri, December 3, 2027, through February 19, 2028. leedy-voulkos.com

Notifications will be emailed by CaFE on June 30 and will appear in your CaFE account at that time

Tips for Preparing Your Entry

To present your work to its best advantage, keep these photography guidelines in mind:

·         Images must be 5MB or less.

·         Submit only full images, no detail or alternate views. Detail or alternative views will not be considered. Use a clean, neutral background and show only the artwork. Do not hold your work with hands or feet showing. Be sure to shoot your artwork straight on. Poor photography may negatively impact juror scores.

Submitted artwork must be a finished, physical piece of fiber art. How you arrived at your design — whether through sketching, software, photography, AI tools, or any combination — is your process, and your process is your own.

What is not eligible: AI-generated images, renderings, or digital compositions submitted in place of a physical work.

Artists are encouraged to disclose the tools used in their artist statements. We jury the work based on its construction, vision, and originality.

NOTE: There are no dimension restrictions for the print exhibition, but Leedy-Voulkos Art Center may consider dimensions when choosing artwork for the on-site exhibition.
