What stories do your objects tell?
Every object has a voice. In the right hands, a simple bowl of fruit can whisper memories, a broken teacup can echo loss, and a forgotten toy can stir childhood dreams.

Gallerium proudly invites you to Still Life 2026, our 4th annual juried exhibition, publication, and sales, dedicated to showcasing the profound beauty and meaning found in still-life art.

Still Life 2026 is a tribute to the quiet poetry of everyday life to celebrate objects, natural or manmade, in any medium, arrangement, or composition artists devise.

This is your chance to present the seemingly ordinary in an extraordinary way—to take what the world overlooks and turn it into something unforgettable.

Why Still Life Matters Today?

In a chaotic world, Still Life invites us to pause. It teaches us to look closer. To appreciate subtle textures, silent gestures, and frozen moments that say so much. It’s about intention—the choice of each object, the way light rests on glass, the shadows that fall across a surface.

This genre isn’t static—it evolves with every artist who dares to tell a new story through shape, color, and form. Still Life 2026 invites you to bring these stories to light.

What to Submit?

We’re looking for personal, symbolic, and innovative interpretations of Still Life. From classical compositions to conceptual contemporary visions—every style and story is welcome.

Here are themes and topics to inspire you:

Classic & Traditional Still Life: Fruits, flowers, ceramics, and timeless table scenes, Religious and historical references, and Floral and botanical elegance.

Modern & Everyday Objects: Tech gadgets, vintage tools, appliances, Items of daily life: shoes, books, cups, toys, glasses, and Scenes from markets, kitchens, workbenches, and studios.

Conceptual & Symbolic Arrangements: Objects symbolizing time, mortality (memento mori), or emotion, Juxtapositions that explore human behavior and psychology, and Commentary on consumerism, identity, or culture through objects.

Natural & Organic Compositions: Shells, stones, bones, feathers, leaves, and Arrangements drawn from nature and the cycle of life.

Abstract & Minimal Still Life: Shapes, shadows, textures, and forms reduced to essence, and Focus on composition, negative space, and emotion without realism.

Assemblage & Mixed Media: 3D object-based installations, sculptures, or conceptual still lifes, and Collage and layered mixed-media works.

Digital & Experimental: Digital painting, photography, or non-AI enhanced still lifes, as well as Animated loops or videos as contemporary still life narratives.

Cultural & Personal Identity: Still lifes that reflect cultural heritage, memory, rituals, and ancestry, and Emotional storytelling through heirlooms and personal objects.

A Legacy in Art

Still Life has stood the test of time—from ancient Egyptian tomb paintings to Dutch Golden Age masterpieces, from the radical cubist tables of Picasso to today’s digital installations. It’s one of the oldest and most respected genres, yet it remains limitless in creative potential.

Still Life 2026 continues this powerful legacy—through you.
