CACE Western Art Show 2026

Celebrate America's 250th! Enter your artwork in the CACE Western Art Show 2026, a feature of the annual Fourth of July Brush Rodeo festivities at the Morgan County Fairgrounds, Brush, Colorado, July 1 through 4.  Both 2D and 3D art works are considered, preferably but not limited to expressions of rodeo and/or western subject matter. 35 artists will be accepted to participate in the exhibit. Juried first, second, and third place artwork as well as the People's Choice will be awarded monetary prizes. The CACE Western Art Show venue is an air conditioned and Wi-Fi equipped building at the fairgrounds. MCC Center for Art and Community Enrichment (CACE) in collaboration with the Brush Rodeo Association coordinates CACE Western Art Show sponsored by Hubbard Feeds. 

Morgan Community College Center for Art and Community Enrichment (CACE) coordinates the four-day Western Art Show in collaboration with the Brush Rodeo Association Fourth of July celebration, July 1-4. The CACE Western Art Show event, sponsored by Hubbard Feeds, is held at the Mark Arndt Event Center at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Brush, Colorado.

• Applications will be accepted on CaFE through May 31, 2026. Applications will be juried and invited artists will be notified by June 10, 2026. A limit of 35 artists will be accepted in the show.
• An artist contract will be sent via email to invited participants to be signed and returned by June 20, 2026.
• 2D art work must be wired and suitable to hang from peg board hooks. Display boards vary in size ranging from two tall 7’x 4’ panels hinged to open like a book, to two-sided  4’ x 8’ horizontal panels. Tables and/or some shelving are available for 3D pieces. Very large sculpture pieces can be displayed outside in front of the event center.
• Participating artists will transport to and install their artwork at the Mark Arndt Event Center on Wednesday, July 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in readiness for the V.I.P. Social which begins at 5:00 PM.
• The CACE Western Art Show opens on July 1 with a V.I.P. social and dinner at which participating artists are guests.  During the V.I.P. social, invited sponsors and guests have the privilege of voting for The People's Choice piece of western artwork that will be featured on the poster and other promotional materials for the following year’s event.
• The People's Choice winning artist agrees to and is responsible for submitting a high resolution digital image of the artwork to the CACE Western Art Show coordinator following the show. A print of that artwork may be framed and sold at the next year’s event to benefit the Brush Rodeo Foundation Scholarship.
• All artwork is to be removed at the end of the show on Friday, July 4, OR on Saturday, July 5, from 9:00 A.M. to noon .
• Art sales during the show are paid to the Morgan Community College Foundation.  After the show closes, 90% of the art sales will be paid by check from the MCC Foundation to the artist and 10% of the sales will be retained by CACE. All sales are transacted by a CACE attendant. Cash or credit cards are preferred.
• The Western Art Show is free and open to the public on July 2-4. Artists are urged to be in attendance during the show when possible. Artists are welcome to actively work on an art piece to further engage visitors.

·         Thursday, July 2—4:00 to 8:00 PM

·         Friday, July 3—4:00 to 8:00 PM

·         Saturday, July 4--4:00 to 8:00 PM

SHOW CLOSING AND REMOVING ARTWORK:

·         Saturday, July 4, 8:00 PM—artists may remove artwork

·         Sunday, July 5, Noon to 2:00 PM—artists remove remaining artwork

• Artwork expressing a rodeo or western theme preferred but not limited to
• With rare exception, artwork must be for sale.
• Artist's statement
• 2D artwork must be wired and ready to hang from pegboard hooks.
• Participating artists will transport to and install their artwork at the Mark Arndt Event Center on July 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in readiness for the V.I.P. Social which begins at 5:00 PM.
• All artwork is to be removed at the end of the show on July 4th or from noon to 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 5.

• Artwork must be original, not completed in a workshop or tutorial session.
• Regional artists who can deliver and retrieve artwork according to dates above (No shipping service is available for this show)
• Preferred but not limited to 2D & 3D original artwork depicting western and rodeo themes.
• Additional prints and other reproductions may also be sold at this event.
• All sales are conducted by docents at the show. Payments are made to the MCC Foundation. After the show, artists will be paid by check from the Foundation for 90% of their sales.
