The Town of Danville invites all creative artists to submit works for its 16th Annual Juried Exhibition, Art in the Dark. This exhibition explores the world of illumination from black light, neon, and lighted works in 2D or 3D. Applications will open June 1, 2026. The exhibition will open on October 17, 2026. This call is open to all local and national artists.
The Village Theatre and Art Gallery is hosting it’s 16th annual juried exhibition. The theme is Art in the Dark. Submissions will open on June 1, 2026 and close on July 17, 2026. There is a $30 fee for entry.
The Town invites artists to submit original artworks. Various mediums will be accepted, such as paintings, drawings and sculptures that glow under black light, light up or are designed in neon, encouraging endless creativity in this captivating genre.
This exhibition will be up and on view from October 17 - December 18, 2026 with an opening reception on October 17. If accepted into the exhibition, artists will be notified by July 24, and artwork will need to arrive October 7-9, 2026.
DETAILS: Art in the Dark is an exhibition in the Village Theatre Art Gallery that will showcase art that illuminates, whether it be neon, lighted, black light, or in 2D or 3D designs. The gallery will be divided into two areas, one with black-lighted pieces only, and another space for illuminated work. Submissions may be concept work with the explanation of how the piece illuminates (electricity, black light paint, neon, etc.)

The artists will be responsible for the transportation of the art from their studio to and from the Village Theatre Art Gallery.
All mediums accepted except for photographic work, computer generated work and artwork created by photographic, digital, laser, giclee or A.I. techniques.
