Beyond the Frame

Beyond the Frame invites artists who challenge traditional artistic boundaries and explore new possibilities in creative expression. This exhibition seeks work that redefines what art can be by pushing beyond familiar materials, formats, and ideas.

Artists working in all media are encouraged to submit work that embraces experimentation, unconventional materials, or innovative techniques.

Painting may move off the wall. Sculpture may become interactive. Alternative art mediums can include unconventional materials that break from traditional artwork. Some examples may include upcycled materials, assemblage, textiles, found objects, altered books, and organic materials. The exhibition welcomes a wide range of approaches.

Beyond the Frame celebrates artists who take creative risks, challenge barriers, and help shape the evolving future of contemporary art.

Deadline for entries: July 10, 2026

The exhibition will be held at Sedona Arts Center and run from August 21-September 28, 2026

We ask for your understanding as we strive to reach the widest audience possible, but limitations in outreach and the dynamic nature of art promotion may mean some artists may not experience the level of visibility they anticipate.
