Craft Alliance calls for artworks that capture decisive moments: the quiet charge of a room before it empties, or the sudden clarity that arrives when a window of opportunity is about to close. Whether reflecting the literal atmosphere of late-night reflection or the metaphorical weight of a final chance, these pieces explore the narrative of "the end" as a precursor to "the next."

Anchored in a repurposed textile mill on Morganford, Alpha Brewing Company is the southern pillar of the Tower Grove South food and beverage scene. Owner Derrick Langeneckert has translated his background in science into a standout success, specializing in innovative sours and barrel-aged styles.

The space itself is a testament to the "Maker" spirit, defined by sustainable upgrades, reclaimed wood, and industrial iron. Derrick’s commitment to this aesthetic extends from his efficient business practices to his curated appreciation for visual art. By partnering with Craft Alliance, Alpha continues to champion an environment where scientific efficiency and artistic expression intersect.

 For over 60 years, Craft Alliance has been the premier hub for craft education and contemporary art in the St. Louis metro area. Located in the Delmar Maker District, Craft Alliance serves as a vital resource for artists, enthusiasts, and students. Through their specialized studios—including ceramics, print and paper, metals, fibers, glass, and wood—as well as their artist-in-residence and exhibition programs, they continue to explore, learn, and celebrate the evolving world of contemporary craft.

Call to Artists 

We invite you to contribute to this unique visual narrative. Show your work to a diverse audience of patrons, makers, and art lovers in one of the city’s most iconic industrial spaces. We are seeking works that bridge the gap between professional craft and urban culture, inviting viewers to find the piece that speaks to them.

The Venue: Alpha Brewery Co & Distillery

The Curator: Craft Alliance (St. Louis, MO).

The Audience: A mix of local "makers," tourists, and art enthusiasts.

The Scope: Open to local and national artists. All wall-ready media welcome.

Work delivered by: April 3, 2026

Work Returned: June 30, 2026 - July 7, 2026

Sales: 

All work submitted should be available for sale. Any sales during the exhibition will be transferred to the artist after Craft Alliance takes a 50% commission on the total sale. Please include the price of work and account for the 50% commission in your CaFE account portfolio/artwork image details.

Shipping and Drop-off: 

Artists should make arrangements for works to arrive on site at Craft Alliance no later than April 3rd, 2026.  Please DO NOT drop works off at Alpha Brewery Co. Artists are responsible for shipping works to Craft Alliance and insuring them for their full value. Please include a pre-paid shipping label with the artwork for return. UPS is preferred.

Please submit:

• High-resolution images of pieces for consideration
• A bio and/or artist statement
• An entry fee of $10

• Open to artists 18 years and older.
• We are seeking wall-bound works that are fully prepared for display (wired, framed, or cleated) upon arrival
• Open to all wall hanging works in clay, fiber, metal, wood, paper, and other craft-based media. No glass, please.
• Both functional and non-functional works are eligible.
