Cincinnati Art Club, 2nd oldest art club in the US, sponsors ViewPoint 58, a National Juried  Art Exhibition, open for fine art in all media except photography, video, crafts, fiber, AI or computer-generated art, painting on photos or prints, and jewelry. For 58 years this show has featured high quality, contemporary art. The exhibit host is ARTclectic Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Exhibit runs T-S from October 2-24, 2026. Opening Oct. 2, 2026. 

Show Judge is the eminent Joseph Orr, founder and signature of NAOPS, and signature AIS.

The Cincinnati Art Club, known as the second oldest art club in the nation, invites you to enter our National Juried Competition and Exhibition, ViewPoint 58, open for fine art in all media except photography, video, crafts, fiber, AI or computer-generated art, painting on photos or prints, and jewelry. For 58 years this show has featured high quality, contemporary art. The exhibit will be hosted by ARTclectic Gallery, in Cincinnati, Ohio. It will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from October 2 to 24, 2026. The Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026.

JURY & JUDGE

Our jurors have resumes of fine art accomplishments, as professional artists, as museum, gallery, or educational affiliates, with extensive judging experience.

As our final judge, we are very proud to have the eminent Joseph Orr, nationally known award-winning artist, founder and signature member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (NAOPS), Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS). He is a noted art author and educator, including for Acrylic Live Online.

Invited artists will sign a short-term representational contract with ARTclectic Gallery for the duration of the show. An email to invited artists via café will include a link to the contract. When an artwork sells, the Gallery will send the artist an IRS form W-9 to complete.

ELIGIBILITY: This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age and older. All artwork must be for sale, recent and original (completed since January 1, 2024).

Original means you, the artist, created your own original composition, and you made the artwork yourself.  Your original composition is not a copy, and is not based on published material (print, video, AI, or online), or on another artist’s work. If you used a reference photo/image, you took the photo, and it was not generated by AI or taken by someone else. Works created in workshops are not eligible. Sculptors may work with a fabricator (example, bronze or metal casting)

The following media are EXCLUDED: photography, video, crafts, fiber, AI or computer-generated art, painting on photos or prints, and jewelry. Art works created in workshops or classes also are not accepted. Work created with AI assistance, or to generate your composition, or by AI is prohibited.

PLEASE NOTE: A 40 percent commission is payable to the gallery from each sale. Price your work accordingly for exhibition at this prestigious gallery.

A top award winner from 2024 or 2025 (1st, 2nd, 3rd Place, or OKI) can enter ViewPoint 58 but will be ineligible to win one of those top cash awards in 2026.  Entrants are eligible for one award only.

ARTWORK

Framed Dimensions: the Maximum size is no larger than 48” wide, by 48” high (frame included). Each piece must be suitably framed with a wire on back ready for hanging (secured by strong screw eyes, D-rings, or mirror hangers and wire). Gallery-wrapped canvas finished and/or painted on all sides is acceptable. Oil paintings must be dry to the touch for handling. Works not prepared to hang this way may not be exhibited.

Free Standing Sculpture must not exceed 36” x 36” x 60” high and must be stable or attached to a stable base. Wall Sculpture must adhere to the same dimensions and framing as paintings and is limited to a depth of 15”. Wall sculpture not to exceed 25 pounds.

ARTWORK IMAGES

Any digital manipulation of supplied photographs must be limited to making the digital file look more like the original art, otherwise risking disqualification. For Sculpture or 3D Artwork, please choose a single, best image for the entry, unless the artist can combine images into one jpg file. CaFe only allows one image per artwork. 

The Artists reserve all rights to the reproduction of the Works except as granted for promotional purposes under this agreement. To promote sales, ViewPoint 58, The Cincinnati Art Club, and ARTclectic Gallery are granted the right to use and publish the name, likeness, and biography of the Artist and to reproduce and distribute material incorporating photographs, other images and descriptions of the Works. The Exhibition and sales may be promoted on their websites, social media pages, photographs, advertising, display, promotion, flyers. Invited artists may provide images of the artist at work to help promote sales. At the Gallery’s discretion, images may be displayed after the Exhibition ends. The art works will be displayed on the Cincinnati Art Club website before, during and after the exhibition.

SHIPPING

Detailed shipping instructions will be emailed to all artists whose work is invited to ViewPoint 58. Shipped work will be returned following the show closing. There is a $15 shipping and handling fee for shipped work, payable to ARTclectic Gallery.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who sets the price of my artwork? You do!

Can I change the price after submission? No. Please price carefully when completing your submission. Please include the gallery’s 40% commission on sold work when you price your art. Carefully consider the cost of shipment if applicable. We want you to net an amount commensurate with the quality of your work. Price accordingly!

Can I refuse an offer to purchase? No, all accepted pieces must be for sale.

Is there a commission for sales? Yes, a 40 percent commission is payable to the gallery from each sale. Price your work accordingly.

Will the gallery negotiate a discounted price with a potential buyer? Only with your permission, and only if a client asks for a discount. ARTclectic Gallery will then contact the Artist to ask if the Artist is willing to offer a discount from the Artist’s portion of the sale price.

Can I substitute an invited work for another piece? No, the invitation is for a specific piece. No substitutions allowed.

Do I need to ship my work in an art shipping box such as an “AirFloat” type box? No, but they are highly recommended because of the protection they provide for your artwork and the ease of processing a returned piece. There will be a $15 handling fee for return shipments. If your shipping box is difficult to unpack, and is damaged, there may be a fee for a replacement shipping box. Artists will be contacted directly if this happens.

Who can win awards? A top cash award winner from 2024 or 2025 (1st, 2nd, 3rd Place, OKI) can enter but will be ineligible to win one of those awards in 2026. Previous winners are eligible for in-kind awards. Entrants are eligible for one award only.
