About the Show

Art Scene West presents our first ever Only Oils exhibition, an exclusive showcase celebrating the medium responsible for so many timeless masterpieces. Chosen for its hallmark characteristics in depth, texture, vibrancy and versatility, oil painting continues to separate artists in today’s contemporary sphere. This Call for Artists seeks those working in oil paints to share their best works, whether rooted in tradition or founded in unique contemporary approaches, for a spectacular gallery exhibition.

We welcome all styles, themes and subjects, from realism to abstraction, portraiture to landscape, expressionism to impressionism, for the purpose of demonstrating the timeless quality of oil paintings. By focusing solely on this medium, we aim to highlight the skill, creativity, and expressive potential that still holds strong in this traditional medium, connecting artists over the span of hundreds of years.

Only Oils provides both a physical and digital platform for artists to join their peers who continue to choose the enduring power of this timeless medium to engage audiences with their creative visions. Select artists will have their works on display and for sale inside our gallery and on our website.
