THE FOUR SEASONS

"THE FOUR SEASONS'' EXHIBIT AT MVA GALLERY

Seasonal change is powerful and transformative. Artists can explore levels of creative expression.

Images can depict the exterior splendor of Nature in landscapes and seascapes while revealing the earth's life during various seasons. These include the dynamic changes of human, animal and plant life in addition to the rhythmic fluctuations of the earth's surface and appearance.

Images can also portray popular activities associated with the recurring seasons from swimming to skiing to gardening.

In addition, certain emotions are perceived as dominant during specific seasons. Spring is associated with hope and renewal; Summer with joy and freedom; Autumn with melancholy and acceptance; Winter with isolation and death.

As an artist, how do you interpret any of these themes?  All styles and techniques are acceptable -- traditional or non-traditional, realistic or abstract. You have total artistic freedom. Please join us!

''THE FOUR SEASONS''  EXHIBIT AT  MVA  GALLERY  --  MODERN  VISUAL  ARTS

THEMES   AND  TECHNIQUES

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, printmakers and sculptors of all levels (emerging to established) to submit original artwork to this exhibition.

National Call For Entries:

Seasonal change is powerful and transformative. This exhibition offers artists an opportunity to explore multiple creative layers of expression.

Images can depict the external splendor of Nature in landscapes and seascapes while revealing the earth's life during various seasons. These include the dynamic changes of human, animal and plant life in addition to the rhythmic fluctuations of the earth's surface and appearance. All landscape artists, photographers, printmakers and sculptors -- traditional and non-traditional -- are welcome.

Images can also portray popular activities associated with the recurring seasons such as swimming, skiing, picnicking, sunbathing, biking, and gardening. Or show individuals struggling in inclement weather or confronting hostile terrain. Human figures can be large or small in scale.. A universe of artistic possibilities exists!

Certain moods and feelings are perceived as dominant during specific seasons. Spring is associated with hope and renewal; Summer with joy and freedom; Autumn with melancholy and acceptance; Winter with isolation and sadness. Please feel free to submit artwork that taps into the psychological resonances that are influenced by the natural cycles.

As an artist, how do you interpret any of these themes? All the visual ideas offered by THE FOUR SEASONS exhibit can be developed realistically or metaphorically. Artists can capture the thematic focus of one particular season or show a range of seasons. Harmony or chaos in Nature can be equally compelling. Images can be dynamic or static, mysterious or lucid, vast or intimate. And portraying human activity emphasizes our complex and symbiotic relationship to land and weather conditions.

Any style or technique is acceptable: representational, abstract, impressionist, cubist, surrealist, expressionist -- or your personal synthesis. You have limitless artistic freedom. We are excited to see your art. Please join us!

Mediums:       The MVA Gallery accepts painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, ink, sculpture, fiber, drawing and photography.
