Bunnell seeks exhibitions that value innovation, excellence of craftsmanship, community engagement, relationship-building and fiscal sustainability, but not necessarily all of these qualities at once. The strongest applications show a clear and unified body of work. The artwork work and intentions are clearly represented and described. The exhibit proposal is clear and specific and resonates with Bunnell's mission and values.
Exhibits are selected by an advisory committee led by Bunnell's Artistic Director and composed of artists, community members, and Bunnell staff and board. Artists are notified by December 31st each year.
Exhibits run for one month and open on "First Friday" with a public reception and artist talk. Exhibits come with a minimum honorarium of $150. Shows and artist talks are shared online through Bunnell's website, online store, and social media platforms.
If artwork is for sale, work is sold at a 60% artist / 40% Bunnell split and paid by the 15th of the month following the sale.
