The City of Coral Springs is requesting artist concept proposals for a commissioned mural of significant size for the exterior of the Coral Spring Museum of Art’s new exterior wall (17 feet in height by 64 feet in width), facing Sample Road. Proposals by both single and/or teams of artists will be accepted. The mural must be completed no later than February 1, 2026
The City of Coral Springs Public Art Committee will commission an artist for a large mural at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, a city organization that is a cultural beacon serving Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties. The museum celebrates artistic expression in its various forms, from cutting-edge exhibitions to thought-provoking installations.
This artwork should use the full height and width of the available wall space (approximately 17 feet in height by 64 feet in width). The artwork should be engaging, encourage pedestrian activity, and have a dramatic visual aspect to it.
It is imperative the mural is completed by February 1, 2026. Proposals and contracts will not be approved if the artist is unable to complete work by due date.
Location Description
The artwork will be located at the Coral Springs Museum of Art’s new downtown space on the corner of Sample Road and University Drive, within the Cornerstone development. This space is within the redeveloped downtown area where the City hosts many events throughout the year. The museum will be surrounded by residential apartments, businesses, restaurants, near Coral Springs City Hall. The mural wall is located along the main sidewalk on Sample Road, on the exterior of the Museum of Art. Sample Road is a main road which has a considerable amount of pedestrian and vehicular traffic at the heart of Coral Springs. For more information on Coral Springs Museum of Art, visit:
