Emphasis: A Mural Project

The Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers seeks digital submissions for an outdoor mural project on their campus. The murals will be printed on vinyl banners and displayed for a period of up to a year.

This mural exhibition seeks to highlight the fundamental building block that is emphasis. Whether through colorful or monochromatic compositions, we encourage artists to submit 2D artworks that explore the importance of Emphasis as a principle of design.

Artists may submit digital art, high-quality scans, or photographs of artwork for this exhibition. Artworks should be horizontal. Selected pieces will be printed on 4'x8' vinyl banners and displayed on the Alliance for the Arts campus for up to 6 months. There will be no physical reception for this exhibition; all artworks will be reproduced on vinyl banners for display.

Open to all artists working in the United States. Submit by September 25, 2025, for consideration. If you are a member of the Alliance for the Arts, you may use code Member10 for $10 off your entry fee. Alliance for the Arts memberships are available from $75 at www.artinlee.org/membership.

Refer to the Site Plan picture for examples of past mural projects by the Alliance for the Arts. Email Julio at exhibitions@artinlee.org with any questions.

Each submission consists of 1-3 pieces of art. Only horizontal artworks will be accepted. Images should have at least 300 DPI.
