FOTO 2025 is a photography publication and exhibition that explores the profound influence of photography on contemporary art by highlighting the various roles the medium plays in cultural commentary, documentation, journalism, and as a medium for conveying political and historical narratives. 

Celebrating photography's versatility, FOTO 2025 assembles all photographic genres, formats and applications to create an impactful collection of works that emphasizes the importance of photography in contemporary art. 

In addition to individual image selections, photographers will also be chosen for solo exhibitions. Those selected will receive a feature spread in the publication, a three-month online exclusive solo exhibition, and an artist interview to be released on the Gallery Podcast.

Celebrating photography's versatility, FOTO 2025 assembles all photographic genres, formats and applications to create an impactful collection of works that emphasizes the importance of photography in contemporary art.

EXHIBITION - FOTO 2025 officially launches May 5th; artists and artworks will be reviewed, juried, and ADDED MONTHLY, ensuring that online visitors and collectors experience fresh and exciting new works continuously. All selected artists and their artwork will be featured on our website and our sales platform and featured on our social media platforms.

SOLO EXHIBITION - In addition to monthly individual image selections, Dama Gallery will also choose individual photographers for solo exhibitions. Those selected will receive a feature spread in the publication, a three-month online exclusive solo exhibition, and an artist interview to be released on the Gallery Podcast.

PUBLICATION - Artists chosen for this exhibit will be featured in a hardcover photography book commemorating the exhibition. Each selected artist will receive a free digital copy of the publication, while the full-color folio will be available for purchase. Copies of the publication will be donated to the Fine Arts Library (FAL) at the University of Texas at Austin and to the LACMA Balch Art Research Library in Los Angeles for their permanent collections. Our FOTO 2025 publication will be released in January 2026 to commerate the close of the exhibition in February 2026.

CALL FEE - Basic media fee is $35 for 3 images. Additional media may be added, the cost is $5 per image. No more than 20 images can be added. The curator's time plays a crucial role in shaping our selections. Fees are allocated to reflect the curator's efforts, encompassing portfolio reviews, submission consultations, exhibition publications, artist stipends, juror honorariums, gallery interns, and other essential expenses integral to the meticulous curation, strategic marketing, and seamless execution of our extensive and ongoing exhibition program.

COMMISSION - Dama Gallery adheres to the industry norm of a 50% commission, retaining half of the sale proceeds. 

REMITTANCE - Sales remittance to the artist occurs 5-7 business days after close of sale and/or upon buyer payment finalization to Dama Gallery (whichever finalizes first). A detailed remittance statement is promptly

CONSIDERATIONS - Entries are reviewed weekly and selections are made throughout the month.  provided with payment. 

NOTIFICATIONS - Ongoing notifications are typically sent via the CaFE communications email server throughout the month, with final decisions and notifications being dispatched at the curator's discretion. Artists chosen for exhibition will receive timely status updates.

GALLERY REQUIREMENTS - All work must be original, unsold work, & the artist must own the sole copyright to art. Framed Art; frames, mats & wiring must be professional quality & in good condition. No saw- tooth hangers. Wiring must be securely fashioned & support weight of the artwork. 2D Artwork selected MUST BE READY TO HANG unless stipulated that the image will be sold and shipped as an unframed print. 

SHIPPING REQUIREMENTS - Artists are responsible for providing adequate, appropriate and protective packing for their artwork. Artists are responsible for providing the gallery with accurate dimensions and weight of the original artwork and packaged artwork. The Gallery is responsible for shipping logistics and costs for the buyer.

ACCEPTED PHOTOGRAPHS - All photographic mediums and applications are accepted and welcomed for consideration.

SUBMISSION TIP - A comprehensive and detailed submission will include at least 3 images, biography and artist statement. We want to highlight the artists, not just the artwork. 

SUBMISSION NOTE - All work selected online must remain available for sale for the entirety of this project. At any time a written request may be made to remove the selected image from the sales listing. This clause is written into the legal agreement.
