Application Guidelines and Requirements:
Submit exactly 3 pieces per division application. These should reflect the work you plan to bring to the Indian Market & Festival.
All work submitted must be completed within the last 3 years.
Each artist may apply to a maximum of three divisions.
Applications are submitted per division, not per artist.
Compliance:
All pieces of art submitted and sold at the Indian Market & Festival must follow the laws and regulations of the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Tribal Councils.
Artist Code of Conduct:
It is the Museum’s policy to prohibit intentional and unintentional harassment of or against employees, volunteers, interns, and visitors by another employee, supervisor, vendor, customer, or third party based on actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, and pregnancy-related conditions), gender identity or expression (including transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws. The Museum will not tolerate such conduct.
Artists and those representing the artist are expected to engage respectfully with Eiteljorg Museum staff, volunteers, and visitors throughout the entire duration of their partnership with the Museum. This includes both physical and virtual interactions and communication. Artists and their representatives will demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and courtesy in all interactions with museum staff, volunteers, and visitors. If an individual chooses not to follow this code of conduct, their inclusion in the Indian Market & Festival will be reviewed and the artist and those representing the artist may be asked not to attend certain events, may be asked to leave this year’s Indian Market & Festival, and/or may be prohibited from participating in Indian Market & Festival in subsequent years.
Attendance Standards
All artists must be checked in by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026. If you have not checked in at Artist Registration or contacted staff via phone or email by 5:00 p.m., your booth space may be released to another artist, and no refund will be given.
Booth Content and Sales:
Imported jewelry, such as "stringers," will not be allowed.
Selling another artist’s work: Artists must only sell their own work at their booth, unless the artist is sharing a booth with another artist who has also been juried into the Indian Market & Festival. This includes the work of other family members. For example, an artist who has been successfully juried into the Market in the division of pottery may only sell his or her pottery and not that of other family members not juried into the Market.
Submission to Best of Show competition and selling of work only in approved divisions: Artists may only sell work and submit for judging in the divisions for which they have been accepted. For example, an artist who has been juried into The Indian Market & Festival in the jewelry division may only submit jewelry for judging and sell jewelry in their booth space, and not pottery, textiles, or baskets.
Artists may offer for sale limited edition prints, note cards, and stickers featuring the artist’s original artwork; display of such materials cannot exceed 20% of the artist’s booth content.
Commissions and orders (where a deposit or full payment is accepted) must be completed by the date promised; if the order cannot be completed by that date, the artist must notify the purchaser. Failure to fulfill obligations entered into at the Indian Market & Festival may result in the artist's exclusion from future markets. The Indian Market & Festival and the Eiteljorg Museum are not responsible for undelivered orders.
