The Art Fair will extend along Santa Fe Drive from the Thompson Park area north to 79th Street and along 80th Street from Marty Street to Conser Street.
Participation is open to artists and craftspeople located within an 80-mile radius of Overland Park, Kansas. The Downtown Overland Park Art Fair is a juried event dedicated to showcasing high-quality, original artwork and handcrafted goods.
All work displayed and sold must be the original concept, design and creation of the accepted artist. Work created using commercial kits, molds, patterns, plans, stencils or prefabricated forms is not permitted. Commercially manufactured merchandise, resale items and mass-produced products are also prohibited.
AI-generated or AI-assisted artwork is not permitted. Artwork submitted for jury consideration, displayed or sold at the Art Fair may not be created, generated or materially altered using generative artificial intelligence tools. Artists must be able to represent submitted work as their own original artistic creation.
Accepted mediums may include painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital art, mixed media, basketry, weaving, textiles, pottery and ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, woodworking, metalwork, glasswork and other fine art or handcrafted mediums.
Applications are reviewed by a jury of approximately 4–6 individuals. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the Art Fair. Acceptance applies only to the artist and body of work represented in the submitted application.
A $25 non-refundable application fee is required at the time of application.
DOPP does not charge commission fees on artist sales. Artists are responsible for complying with applicable Kansas sales tax requirements and remitting taxes associated with their sales.

Standard booth spaces are approximately 10' x 10'. Upon acceptance into the Art Fair, artists will have the opportunity to select from available booth location categories:
80th Street Booth – $125
10' x 10' booth located along 80th Street from Marty Street to Conser Street.
Santa Fe South Booth – $150
10' x 10' booth located along Santa Fe Drive from 80th Street south toward Conser Street and Thompson Park.
Santa Fe North Premium Booth – $200
10' x 10' booth located along Santa Fe Drive from 80th Street north to 79th Street. This high-demand section is located near the Overland Park Farmers' Market and offers a prime location within the Art Fair footprint.
Booth pricing reflects location within the Art Fair footprint. All areas are part of the main event and receive event-wide promotion; however, certain locations experience higher demand due to their proximity to surrounding attractions and activities.
A limited number of booth spaces are available within each location category. Location categories will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to accepted artists once booth registration and payment opens. Selecting a location category secures a booth within that general area but does not guarantee a specific booth number or exact placement.
A limited number of double-booth spaces are also available. Upon approval, artists requesting two adjoining 10' x 10' spaces must make their selection and payment to confirm their booth space. Double booths are available on a first-come, first-served basis to accepted artists and are subject to availability within the requested location category. Artists approved for a double booth will be responsible for the applicable booth fee for each 10' x 10' space.
DOPP staff will determine individual booth assignments based on the final event layout, safety, accessibility and operational needs. Booth assignments are not interchangeable and may not be transferred or traded.
Artists must provide their own tent, tables, chairs, displays, racks, extension cords and other necessary booth equipment. Displays must be professional, clean and aesthetically appropriate for the Art Fair. Racks and storage materials should be appropriately covered, and signage should maintain the overall aesthetic quality of the event.
Tent weights are mandatory. All tents must be adequately weighted on each leg. Tent stakes cannot be used on the event's hard surfaces.
Electricity is not provided. Artists requiring electricity must provide their own power source. Generators are permitted only with prior notification to DOPP and must operate at a noise level below 60 dB. Generators exceeding this limit will not be permitted. Artists planning to use a generator must notify krysten@downtownop.org prior to the event.
The event footprint will extend along Santa Fe Drive from the Thompson Park area north to 79th Street and along 80th Street from Marty Street to Conser Street. Streets within the event footprint will be closed to vehicle traffic, and artist booths will primarily be located on hard surfaces.
DOPP reserves the right to adjust the event footprint or individual booth assignments due to construction, weather, City requirements, public safety concerns or other operational circumstances.
Artists with special space or accessibility needs should include their request with their application or contact krysten@downtownop.org. DOPP will make every reasonable effort to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee specific booth locations or configurations.
Participating artists will receive additional information regarding booth assignments, check-in, load-in, setup, parking and load-out prior to the event.
The Downtown Overland Park Art Fair is a rain-or-shine event.
The $25 application fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether an applicant is accepted into the Art Fair.
All booth fees are non-refundable once paid. No refunds or credits will be issued for artist cancellations, inclement or severe weather, event modifications, emergencies, unforeseen circumstances or other circumstances outside the reasonable control of DOPP.
DOPP reserves the right to delay, modify, suspend or cancel all or a portion of the event when necessary for the safety of artists, attendees, staff or the public.
