The 56th annual Arts in the Park (AIP) show, held annually on the first weekend in May, takes place May 1-2, 2027 at The Carillon in beautiful Byrd Park in Richmond, VA. Our goal is to provide a venue for creators of fine art and fine craft to connect with the art-buying public.
Hosted by the Carillon Civic Association (CCA) and residents of the Carillon neighborhood, AIP continues to be community-run and inclusion-focused, staffed by volunteers from the neighborhood and drawing large local crowds and artists from across the country; in 2026 we had almost 400 artists from 25 states and Canada exhibit. We estimate the show drew 80K attendees over the two days.
Arts in the Park is a Richmond tradition, and we advertise the show on our social media, website, ZAPP, and local media.
Our community comes together to put on AIP, and we try our best to create a friendly, open atmosphere and provide excellent artist hospitality throughout the weekend, with coffee and light refreshments provided each morning of the show.
Always free to the public, Richmond Arts in the Park draws strong community support. More than just an art show, it’s about fostering community spirit and reconnecting with friends.
**Please carefully read the Medium descriptions, excluded items and jury sections below. Changes have been made since the 2026 AIP; even returning artists should read these sections thoroughly.**
