Redlands Festival of Arts 2027

Join us Memorial Day Weekend in beautiful Smiley Park for the 15th Annual Redlands Festival of Arts, taking place Saturday, May 29, and Sunday, May 30, from 10 am to 5 pm each day.

• All applying artists must register via Zapplication.org
• Zapp collects a $35 application fee per media category entered
• Artists working in more than one medium must submit a separate application for each medium
• Application deadline: February 2, 2027
• Applicants will be notified of acceptance by February 10, 2027
• Jury period is: February 3-9, 2027

Application & Jury Information

Applications must include a non-refundable $35 jury/application fee and five (5) images:

• Four (4) images of current individual artworks.
• One (1) booth image showing the artist's display and body of work. The booth image is required and helps jurors evaluate presentation, scale, and consistency of work.

The jury process is blind. Submitted images must not contain artist names, logos, signage, or identifiable photographs of the artist.

Notification & Acceptance

Artist notifications will be sent on or about February 10, 2027. Applicants can view their status in ZAPP™ and will also receive an email notification.

Artists who are invited must:

1. ACCEPT the invitation in ZAPP™
2. COMPLETE PAYMENT and click CONFIRM

Your booth space is not reserved until you have completed both steps, paid, and received confirmation.

• Invited artists must confirm or decline participation by February 22, 2027
• Wait-listed artists may be notified beginning February 10, 2027

Booth Fees

• $275 - Single Booth (10' x 10') 
• $550 - Double Booth (20' x 10') subject to approval/availability

All booths must be free-standing. Booth assignments are made at the sole discretion of the Redlands Festival of Arts.  Artists retain 100% of their sales. No sales commission is charged.

Cancellation Policy

• Application fees are non-refundable.
• Artists who cancel on or before March 31, 2027 will receive a 50% refund of booth fees.
• No refunds will be issued after March 31, 2027.

• Saturday, May 29, 2027, 10 am – 5 pm
• Sunday, May 30, 2027, 10 am – 5 pm

Artist Access

• Saturday - Beginning at 7 am
• Sunday - 8 am – 7 pm

There is no Saturday move-in or Monday move-out. All exhibits must be removed by 7 pm on Sunday.

Security & Liability

Artists are responsible for the security of their artwork, displays, and personal property. The Redlands Festival of Arts and the City of Redlands assume no liability for loss or damage from any cause. Artists must carry appropriate theft and liability insurance.  Overnight roaming security will be provided by the Festival.

Weather Policy

The Redlands Festival of Arts is a rain-or-shine event. While rain is uncommon in May, it has occurred. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions.

Medium Categories 

• Digital Art  Work for which the original image or the manipulation of other source material created by the artist using a computer.
• Graphics and Printmaking  Printed works for which the artist’s hand manipulated the plates, stones or screens. All works to be signed and numbered as limited editions. Giclees will be permitted if they are accurately identified and signed by the artist.
• Mixed Media  Works that incorporate more than one type of material for production.
• Painting Works created in oils, acrylics and watercolor.
• Photography Photographic prints made from the artists original image and processed by the artist or under the artist’s direct supervision.

• Ceramics  Functional pieces of clay or porcelain made and signed by the artist.
• Fiber  Works crafted from fibers. No forms of mass production are permitted.
• Glass  All works to be handcrafted by the artist.
• Jewelry All jewelry no matter the material from which it was crafted must be entered in this category.
• Sculpture  Original work done in any medium
• Wood  Original works that are hand tooled, turned or carved

1. Only original work created and executed by the artist will be permitted. Giclees of the artists' original work will be permitted if clearly identified as such and signed by the artist. No more than 25% of exhibited work may be Giclee. Artwork generated in whole or in substantial part by Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not eligible for jury consideration and may not be displayed or sold at the Redlands Festival of Arts. All artwork must be the original creation of the exhibiting artist. Traditional digital editing tools may be used in the creation or preparation of the artist’s own original work. The goal of the art festival is to offer the public an opportunity to purchase original work directly from the artist.
2. The Redlands Festival of Arts has the sole discretion to advise an artist if the work does not comply with the festival rules and regulations
3. All artists in their applications will certify that the images submitted are their original work and were created by them.
4. Accepted artists must exhibit during all show hours on both days, rain or shine. The accepted artist must staff their booths at all times during Festival hours. The festival staff will provide coverage if needed by the artist for a short relief period.
5. One artist per booth. Exception would be if two artists do collaborative original works.
6. The artist who created the work, submitted the application, and who was accepted by the Festival must be in attendance. Identification will be checked during registration.
7. All artists’ applications are handled through Zapp ™, an online application process managed by the Western States Arts Foundation
8. Artists are responsible for payment of taxes to any city, county, state or federal agency. All exhibitors must have a current California State Board of Equalization permit. For out-of-state exhibitors needing a temporary 30 day California State Board of Equalization permit, visit: http://www.boe.ca.gov/
9. Out-of-state artists do not have to send CA Sellers Permits until notified of acceptance.
10. Artists must also purchase a Temporary Seller's Permit from the City of Redlands. Instructions for this process will be included in your artist packet.
11. Booths must be freestanding. No banners other than the artist’s name may be displayed.
12. Playing mechanical music is not permitted
13. Exhibitors may not distribute literature of, or promoting in any way any religious, fraternal, political or commercial organization. Literature pertaining to the artist’s work is permitted.
14. All exhibitors must carry adequate theft and liability insurance and proof of insurance is required at check in. Exhibitors will be responsible for the security of their work. Neither the Redlands Festival of Arts Corporation nor the City of Redlands will assume responsibility for any loss or damage to any artistic works or display materials from any cause. However, the Festival will provide roaming night security. 
15. Exhibitors are asked to check in on Friday, May 28, 2027 and complete set up by 6 pm
16. All move-out must be completed by Sunday evening, May 30th, no later than 7 pm
17. The hours will be from 10 am to 5 pm on both Saturday and Sunday
18. We have a "Rain or Shine" policy. There will be no refund of fees should weather issues occur.
