Opportunity Summary
Colorado Day on August 1, 2026, marks the 150th anniversary of the state! The Denver Art Museum will mark the occasion by celebrating and uplifting Colorado art, artists and creativity at the Colorado Day Art Market and Free Day at the DAM.
The Colorado Day Art Market is a one-day fine art and craft market on the plaza of the Denver Art Museum campus for Colorado artists and artisans to showcase and sell their wares. We welcome original work by Colorado artists and artisans in the following categories: Ceramics & Glass; Fiber Art; Jewelry; Metal, Wood & Mixed Media; Painting, Drawing, Photography & Printmaking; Sculpture; Emerging Artists. Artists will be selected through a blind jury process.
This is a first-time event coinciding with a Denver Art Museum summer Free Day (average 5000 visitors) as well as festivities hosted by other neighborhood organizations celebrating Colorado Day (including History Colorado Center and the Center for Colorado Women’s History). Colorado Day programming inside the Denver Art Museum, plus music, food and other engagements throughout the neighborhood, will draw visitors to the area.
All proceeds, including application fees and booth fees, help support the mission of the Denver Art Museum, including creating opportunities like this for artists to present and sell their work.
The Colorado Day Art Market and Free Day at the DAM is a free admission event, held rain or shine. It will be open to the public from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday August 1, 2026.
Application Requirements
Application Requirements
The Colorado Day Art Market exists to celebrate Colorado creativity and to showcase Colorado artists, artisans, and their creative contributions. All applicants will be asked to certify that they currently reside within the state of Colorado.
Application images must reflect what the Artist/Vendor intends to exhibit at the show.
Applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable $25 application fee.
Applications are reviewed by a blind jury; the Artist/Vendor’s name or business name MAY NOT appear anywhere in the Artist Statement, on images of the Artist’s work (including signatures), in the booth image, or in the descriptions of individual images. Applicants may use a block of color or a blur effect to cover their name as needed in photos. Applicants who submit any of the above mentioned with their name or business name may be disqualified.
The Artist Statement must identify the Artist’s medium and include specific explanations of the processes/techniques they use, how their work is produced, the number and roles of any employees/assistants/apprentices who help create their work, and whether any outside sources such as a foundry or printing lab are used.
Selecting Your Medium
Only one medium may be represented per application; due to the limited number of booth spaces, Artist/Vendors may only apply in one medium.
Jewelry may only be submitted for jury in the jewelry category.
We have provided for a very limited number of Emerging Artist spaces at a discounted rate, designed to showcase talented up-and-coming artists, designers, and makers of any age. Be mindful that you may only apply in one medium; you may have a better chance of acceptance by applying in your actual medium. By applying as an Emerging Artist, you are certifying that you have less than 3 years of professional experience as a working artist and showing your work.
Mediums Accepted
