Art on Main - Memorial Day Weekend
Friday & Saturday, May 22-23, 2026

Join us for the 11th annual Art on Main, celebrating the region's finest artists in historic downtown Brigham City. This free two-day festival features:

• Fine art show with cash prizes
• Plein air competition
• Chalk art contest
• Photography exhibit
• Live music and dance performances
• Artisan vendor marketplace
• Food trucks
• Street entertainment

All events are free and open to the public, except the Friday Night Artist Reception. 

Artists: Please submit applications by May 15th to ensure timely processing. Vendors: Must apply by May 13th in order to meet a Brigham City licensing deadline. May 18th is a hard deadline for any application.

Vendor Applications are closed for Art on Main

All participants must complete a three-step process:

1. Submit application through ZAPP ($5 non-refundable fee)
2. Receive invitation (applications typically processed within 48 hours)
3. Accept invitation and pay applicable entrance fees, where applicable.

Event Venues

Fine Art Show & Sale
Location: Brigham Academy Center
Divisions: Professional, Amateur, and Student
Categories: Oil/Acrylic, Watercolor, Drawings, Mixed Media

Fine Art Show Details:
- Studio work will be displayed according to division (professional, amatuer, student)
- All studio work must be framed. Maximum size is 30" X 40"
- Entrance fees: Professional $25/piece, Amateur $15/piece, Student $10/piece
- New Artists: Submit 5 images to artshow@historicbrigham.org with medium, title, and pricing

Returning Artists: No jury submission required

Historic Box Elder Plein Air
Location:  - Brigham Academy Center co-located with Fine Art Show
Contest Boundaries: Box Elder County
Contest Theme: No specific theme, one special award for portrayal of historical primacy

Plein Air Schedule:
- Canvas Stamping & Start: MSaturday, May 16, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Follow on Stamping: Weekdays 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Location: Consignology (57 South Main Street)
- Artwork Submission: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM Brigham Academy Center

Plein Air Fees:
- Initial stamping fee: $25 (includes one submission, unlimited stamps)
- Additional submission: $10 each paid at submission
- Maximum 5 pieces per artist

Chalk Art Contest
Location: Artisan Alley - next to the Box Elder County Chamber building (75 S. Main)
Saturday only, chalking period 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Chalk Art Contest Details:
- Open to amateur and professional artists or teams
- Fee: $10 per team/person

New Artists: Submit sample images of your work to artshow@historicbrigham.org
Returning Artists: No jury submission required

Birds of Bear River Photography Exhibit
Location: Brigham Academy Center
- Photography exhibit featuring bird, wildlife, and landscape photography
- Focus on Bear River watershed
- No entrance fee
- Cash prizes awarded
- Accepted artists will be featured on Brigham City's tourism website
- Exhibitor details provided upon acceptance into the venue. 
Note - Special landscape photography exhibit "Silent Witnesses" to be part of this year's collection. Details provided upon registration.

Main Street Performing Arts Stage & Live Concerts
Location: Historic Box Elder County Courthouse Parking Lot (6N Main)
Friday 4:00pm - 8:00pm Saturday, 10:00am - 8:00 pm

Friday Live Concert Details:
- Opening Act 6:00 TBA
- Main Concert 7:00 TBA

Performing Arts Stage Details:
- Saturday only beginning at 10:00 am
- Local dance, vocal, and instrumental performances
- Musician stipends available
- Artists must apply through ZAPP

Main Street Sidewalk Celebration
Location: Main Street (200 South to Forrest Street)
Individual merchant participation may vary.

Art on Main occurs on Friday & Saturday, May 22-23, 2026. Hours are 12:00 noon Friday through 8:00 pm Saturday. This is the weekend prior to Memorial Day and has a veteran/Gold Star theme. The event is located in the central downtown historic district of Brigham City.

DIRECTIONS
From I-15, take any of the three Brigham City exits, travel East to Main Street, and proceed to the center of town. Art on Main headquarters is located at 57 S. Main Street inside the Union Block Building (Consignology). Look for the historic arch over Main Street – you'll know you're there!

PARKING
Free parking is available in the County Courthouse parking lot (enter from 100 East), at the Brigham City Offices parking lot, and in the public parking areas behind the shops on either side of Main Street. Limited parking is also available on Main Street.

ACCOMMODATIONS/LODGING
Several hotels and short-term vacation rentals are available in downtown Brigham City.The Hampton Inn, located next to the Brigham Academy Center and the Union Block Lofts (VRBO) are within walking distance of all festivities.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR TICKETED EVENTS
Most Art on Main events are free and open to the public. The sole exceptions is the Friday Night Artist Reception. Ticketing details to follow.

DRESS CODE/SUGGESTED ATTIRE
This is a family-friendly event with children present. Please dress accordingly.

WHAT TO BRING
Public: Items required for personal comfort
Artists: Tools of your trade for your participating venue
Note: Public restrooms are available in the Brigham Academy Center (58 N Main), the newly remodeled Chamber of Commerce building (75 S Main), and at Consignology (57 S Main).

WHAT NOT TO BRING
Alcohol is not permitted at Art on Main.

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY POLICY
There are no general photography or video restrictions.

REGISTRATION WINDOW AND DEADLINES
Registration and ticket sales begin January 20, 2026 and ends on May 15. Plein Air stamps will be available through May 21st.

ACCEPTED FORMS OF PAYMENT
Online payment through ZAPP portal is required for artisan vendors. Cash, checks, and Venmo are accepted at Fine Art Show, Plein Air, and Photography Exhibit upon artwork submission (must be registered by May 15 deadline).

AT-THE-DOOR REGISTRATION
All artist registration must occur in advance of the show. Only Artist Reception tickets are available at the door.

REFUND & CANCELLATION/RAINOUT POLICY
No refunds of any kind are offered, including for inclement weather.

REENTRY POLICY
Reentry is permitted for all ticketed events.

REGISTRATION/TICKET EXCHANGE/TRANSFER POLICY
Tickets and registrations are non-transferable.

Vendor Booths

Booth space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis with indoor and outdoor options available. We seek high-quality artisans whose items include an element of original work through creation, design, or production. Acceptable items include original works, prints, cards, and replications.

Outdoor Artisan Booths - $50.00
Primary Locations:
- County Courthouse lawn
- Bill of Rights Plaza
- Artisan Alley West (near West base of arch)

Outdoor Vendor Booth Details:
- Main vending area: 10' x 10'
- Alley spaces vary in size (minimum 100 sq. ft.)
- Vendors must provide their own canopy or covering

Indoor Artisan Booths - $75.00
New location for 2026: Newly remodeled Chamber of Commerec Exhibit Area (75S Main)
Brigham Academy Center - Lower floor (limited to Fine Artists in the Fine Art Show or Plein Air)

Indoor Vending Space Details:
- Minimum 120 sq. ft. (10' x 12')
- Dimensions may vary based on facility layout
- Well-lit spaces with hardwood or Epoxy or Carpet floors
- Frames and grids permitted (no canopies)

Food Vendors
Location: County Court parking lot (behind Main Street Performing Arts Stage)
Vending Times: Friday 12:00 - 8:00; Saturday 10:00 - 8:00

Food Vendor Fees:
- Food Trucks: $75.00
- Food Tents: $150.00

Street Entertainers
- No entrance fee required, but must submit application
- Locations vary based on entertainer needs
- Children's activities encouraged
- Available throughout festival
- Stipends may be available for selected acts at the discretion of the festival.
