Cherokee Triangle Art Fair 2026

2026 marks the 54th anniversary of this rite of spring in one of Louisville's most beautiful and historic neighborhoods.

The Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is a juried fair with more than 200 artists’ booths. The two-day event is free and open to the public.The Art Fair is held in Louisville’s historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood on tree-lined Cherokee Parkway between Willow Avenue and Cherokee Road.The neighbors are friendly and welcoming as they celebrate spring with old and new friends.The Art Fair began in 1972 and has been one of the area's favorite events ever since.

Along with a high-quality and diverse selection of art, patrons of the Fair can enjoy food, drink, and entertainment. The popular Children's Parade kicks off the event each year at 10:00 a.m. All kids are welcome to participate in this joyful, themed march, as well as to join in the Children’s Art Tent for hands-on activities throughout the weekend.

The annual Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is the major fundraiser for Louisville’s Cherokee Triangle Association (CTA), and proceeds are returned to the community and neighborhood. The CTA uses proceeds from the Fair to fund free summer concerts in Willow Park and to make donations to organizations such as the Highlands/Shelby Park branch of the Louisville Free Public Library, the interfaith Highlands Community Ministries, and the Olmsted Parks Conservancy.

Prizes
One $550.00 cash prize will be awarded to the artist judged Best in Show. Two $400.00 cash prizes will be awarded for Honorable Mention awards.

Best in Show award winner is exempt from the jury process for the following year.

GUIDELINES: All items must be hand-crafted by the exhibitor. Items made using pre-formed molds, kits, or items made by others will not be accepted. If these types of objects are available for sale in a booth, the artist will either be asked to remove them or will be asked to leave the show and forfeit their booth fee. 

Artists are expected to remain for the entire show unless extreme inclement weather forces closoure by the Art Fair Committee. There will be no refund of the fee if this should happen. The Art Fair hours for exhibitors are 10:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time Saturday and Sunday. Setup takes place for exhibitors on Friday beginning at noon Eastern Time. 
 
All mediums must be juried.  If an artist hopes to include more than one medium in a booth, an example of each must be submitted with their application.
 
HOW TO APPLY: Submit no more than three photographs of the art. A booth image IS required.

Double booth requests will be considered but there is a very small amount available, as we are a small show. We must decline the majority of double booth requests.
 
Artists’ names must not appear in any photos. 
 
All applicants will be reviewed by the Artist Committee and blind-juried by a separate panel. 

Approximately 220 exhibitors will be accepted.
 
Notification will take place on or about March 1, 2026.

Previous participation does not guarantee acceptance.

All applications must be submitted by the January 15th deadline. The deadline cannot be extended and exceptions cannot be made.

Wthdrawals, Emergencies, Weather Conditions 
Artists who withdraw from the Art Fair on or before 12:00 midnight Eastern Time March 31, 2026 will receive a refund of their booth fee, less $50. After 12:00 midnight Eastern Time March 31, 2026, no refunds are given.

If an artist chooses to leave prior to the end of the Art Fair and without notice, they will not be asked to return in future years. Emergency departures will be taken on a case-by-case basis. The Art Fair is an outdoor event and is held rain or shine. Artists are expected to remain for the entire show unless severe or dangerous weather forces closure by the Art Fair Committee. There will be no refund of the booth fee in the event of emergency closure.

Booth spaces are 10' x 10'.

Fee is $400 (plus 6% KY-required tax)

Setup day is always the Friday of show weekend. Setup for exhibitors begins at noon Eastern Time on Friday. 

Overnight security is provided.

Electricity is not available. Generators are NOT permitted; however, battery-powered lighting is acceptable.

Effective January 1, 2023, a 6% sales tax will be added to all booth fees. Kentucky has made substantial changes to how some services are taxed. This includes many different types of "short term rentals", such as booths at events like the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair. The Art Fair is a two-day event. If an artist chooses to leave prior to the end of the Art Fair, they will not be asked to return in future years. There will be no refund of the fee in the event of emergency closure or cancellation. 

Artists who cancel from March 1 through 12:00 midnight Eastern Time on March 31 will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee, to be deducted from their booth fee refund. 
 
There are no refunds of booth fees after 12:00 midnight Eastern Time March 31, 2026.
